Research Infrastructure for Conservation and Heritage Science (RICHeS)
ActiveDescription
The Research Infrastructure for Conservation and Heritage Science (RICHeS) is an 80 million pound national research infrastructure programme funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, part of UK Research and Innovation. Launched in 2024, it opens up access to heritage science and conservation facilities, collections, equipment, expertise and data across the United Kingdom, and supports the sector to work collaboratively and build capability. Its first tranche funds thirty-one investments, comprising seventeen host facilities, thirteen host collections and the Heritage Science Data Service, delivered with 144 project partners. The programme is coordinated by a central Infrastructure Headquarters based at Sci-Tech Daresbury, which also serves as the UK national coordinator for the European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science (E-RIHS). It also runs an Access Fund providing grants for researchers to use RICHeS facilities and collections.
