About the project
There is a significant amount of arts and humanities research infrastructure in the UK. This includes institutes, centres, hubs, research clusters, networks, as well as professional, learned and scholarly societies with a research focus. However, much of this infrastructure remains invisible, undiscoverable, and unconnected.
This project seeks to identify and connect this research ecosystem, through this website. The website has a searchable database, interactive map and application programming interface (API).
Getting involved
This website is a directory of Arts and Humanities research infrastructure in the UK. We need help to make the website more complete and useful.
We need infrastructure managers and researchers to add research infrastructure to our website.
Sign up for an account to add your research infrastructure to the website.
Search
You can find research infrastructure with our search page.
You can search for text content within existing infrastructure records.
To help you find what you are looking for, you can filter your search results by:
- Whether the infrastructure offers funding (for example, fellowships, awards, bursaries, prizes, etc.)
- Type of infrastructure
- Subjects the infrastructure researches
- University affiliation
To find out more about the infrastructure in your search results, you can click one of the results to see its full detail page.
You can also download your search results as a CSV file.
Map
On our map you can see the locations of infrastructure.
Selecting a map pin will give you a link to full details of the infrastructure.
Not all infrastructures can be found on the map. Roving or virtual groups do not have physical addresses that we can plot. If you cannot find what you are looking for, try using the search function.
Dashboard
Our dashboard illustrates possible visualisations that this project's data can support thanks to the project's initial data collection, user data curation, public API.
The dashboard has some simple data visualisation examples. It is an invitation to technical visitors to build and explore further, using our public API.
It is also a live snapshot of real data and the research infrastructure landscape. See something in the visualisations that intrigues you? Dig into the data deeper using the search function, map, and API.
