Oxford University Heritage Network (OUHN)
ActiveDescription
The Oxford University Heritage Network (OUHN) is an interdisciplinary network based at the University of Oxford that connects heritage researchers and practitioners across disciplines. Established in 2018, it brings together researchers and heritage professionals to address the challenges facing heritage locally, nationally and internationally, working through seminars and events and by engaging with policy makers in government, international organisations, the private sector and the NGO community. The network is highly interdisciplinary, with members drawn from across Oxford's four academic divisions: Humanities; Social Sciences; Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences; and Gardens, Libraries and Museums. Its strategic aims are to support collaborative grant applications, encourage wider participation in heritage research, foster agenda-setting interdisciplinary debate, and provide a focus for the University's engagement with heritage partners in the UK and overseas. OUHN runs the Heritage Pathway programme, a sector-facing training offer for Oxford students and researchers, and an e-newsletter connecting the heritage community with events, funding opportunities and news. It is an active institutional member of The Heritage Alliance, the National Heritage Science Forum and the Climate Heritage Network. OUHN hosts OCHRE (Oxford Collaboration in Heritage Science Research and Engagement), a cross-disciplinary initiative bringing together researchers and professionals working in heritage and conservation science.
