Careful Industries

Description

Careful Industries is an independent innovation studio, founded in 2019, whose work focuses on understanding and anticipating the social impacts of technologies. Its mission is to make technology work for the widest possible public rather than a narrow elite. The studio carries out research, policy development, and training, helping organisations (including civil society bodies, public sector institutions, creative industries organisations, and commercial clients) evaluate the technical, social, and ethical implications of AI. It develops AI literacy programmes, AI governance and risk-management frameworks, and conducts foresight reviews and participatory research on AI's impact in public life, creative industries, worker safety, and critical infrastructure.
