Forum on Decentering the Human
ActiveDescription
The Forum on Decentering the Human is an interdisciplinary research centre at Queen Mary University of London. Its main research endeavour is to question anthropocentrism: it carries out interdisciplinary scholarship on non-humans, including animals, nature, AI and divinities, to question whether humanity is still central to the understanding of the world.
The Forum runs seven research streams, among them Fundamental Rights for Non-Humans, Law and/as Political Ontology, and Inhuman, Inhumanisms and Inhumanities, and holds public lectures, workshops, seminars and conferences. Its members are drawn from Law, Geography, Politics and International Relations and the School of the Arts at Queen Mary, and it is listed among the research centres of both the School of Law and the Department of Geography and Environmental Science.
