Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences

Description

The Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IHSS) acts as a dynamic hub to enhance the inter-disciplinary research environment for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and to support cutting-edge scholarship at Queen Mary University of London. It brings together leading researchers at all stages of their careers and from across the world through its permanent Fellowships, global professorial Fellowships and visiting Fellowship schemes.

The synergies in their work and the work of colleagues across the Faculty are promoted through workshops, events and public engagement activities which foster inter-disciplinary conversations within Queen Mary and beyond, including as a member of the Consortium of Institutes of Advanced Studies (CIAS).

The Institute also oversees strategic funding streams and enables engagements between the eighteen Faculty Research Centres.
