Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities
ActiveDescription
The Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities is the University of Oxford's hub for the humanities, opened to the academic community in 2025 and made possible by a founding gift from Stephen A. Schwarzman. It brings seven humanities faculties together with research institutes and libraries under one roof, alongside a major public cultural venue with concert, theatre, cinema and exhibition spaces. Described as both a centre for knowledge and a centre for culture, it is home to institutes including the Institute for Ethics in AI and The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH), and houses the Bodleian Humanities Library and the Bate Collection of musical instruments. It supports interdisciplinary humanities research, public engagement and fellowship programmes, including work at the intersection of the humanities, creativity and artificial intelligence. Follow the centre on LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.
