Statewatch
ActiveDescription
Statewatch is an organisation of activists, researchers, lawyers and journalists that monitors, analyses and exposes state activity threatening civil liberties, human rights and democratic standards across Europe and its borders. Founded in 1991, it works to make visible secretive state practices, restricted documents and security budgets, and to keep the public informed through news, analyses, statements and research. Its stated vision is an open Europe of democracy, civil liberties, free movement, freedom of information, equality and diversity, and it aims to enable a culture of debate and dissent.
