Counterpoints Arts
ActiveDescription
Counterpoints Arts is a leading national and international organisation working in the field of arts, migration and cultural change. Its mission is to support and create transformative art by, with, and about migrants and refugees, so that their stories shape culture and change how displacement is understood. The organisation's work sits at the intersection of climate, racial justice, mental health and displacement, and it produces a range of programmes including Refugee Week, Counterpoints Film Productions and Platforma festival. It holds that art can open spaces for people to talk across differences, inspire community participation and foster a more compassionate society. The organisation works across all art forms and collaborates with artists, arts, cultural and educational organisations, and civil society activists. Its activity runs across three strands: enabling (leading and supporting local, national and international networks, partnerships and collaborations, with advice, fundraising support, commissions, residencies, mentoring and training); producing (events, exhibitions, commissions, digital platforms, artefacts and residencies across art forms); and learning (peer-to-peer learning labs and platforms supporting cross-sector conversation, skills transfer and the sharing of evaluation and impact)
