Active

Description

The Pervasive Media Studio hosts a community of over 200 artists, creative companies, technologists, and academics exploring experience design and creative technology. A collaboration between Watershed, University of Bristol, and UWE Bristol, the Studio supports projects that are cultural or commercial in nature, spanning play, robotics, location-based media, connected objects, interactive documentary, and new forms of performance. The Studio's research strategy focuses on responsible research and innovation, climate action, and creative technology. Named research themes include Interactive Documentary, Robotics, Moving Image, Social Tech, Performance and Music, Storytelling, Cities, and Environmental Emergencies. The Studio emphasises early-stage prototyping and iteration, and operates through an open innovation model in which artists, academics, technologists, and companies work alongside one another.
