Digital Cultures Research Centre (DCRC)

Description

Situated in Bristol's centre, the Digital Cultures Research Centre (DCRC) is a fluid, collaborative, and anti-disciplinary network of researchers spread throughout UWE Bristol. While its primary focus is on creative industries and cultural studies, DCRC members also operate within the spheres of technology, architecture, and social sciences.

Their dynamic research agenda is driven by a combination of creative, applied, and critical work, and an interest in practical applications of theoretical concepts. The Centre hosts a growing group of doctoral candidates and a variety of visiting academics. It resides at the Pervasive Media Studio, serving as the strategic research partner for a diverse community comprised of artists, creative companies, technologists, and academics, who collectively explore experience design and creative technology.
