ActiveDescription
Unlock is a national independent advocacy charity that supports, speaks up and campaigns for people facing stigma, prejudice and discrimination because of their criminal record. It says it was founded in 1998 by a group of former prisoners. It provides information, advice and advocacy through a helpline, website and online forum, and undertakes research, policy work and campaigns, publishing briefings and consultation responses. It runs training, including on criminal record disclosure, and contributes to university-led research projects, including lived-experience input to research on care in prison. It runs the FairChecks campaign in partnership with Transform Justice. Follow Unlock on LinkedIn and YouTube.
