Inform (Information Network Focus on Religious Movements) is an independent educational charity providing information about minority religions and sects which is as accurate, up-to-date and as evidence-based as possible. It exists to prevent harm based on misinformation about minority religions and sects by bringing the insights and methods of academic research into the public domain. It offers a dedicated enquiry service, collaborative research, academic publications, and public engagement through seminars and training for organisations such as the police and social workers. Its archive documents the historical development of, and reactions to, new and minority religious movements in Britain from 1945 to 2018, and its database holds information on more than 5,000 groups. Founded in 1988 at the London School of Economics, it has been hosted by the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at King's College London since 2017.
