Digital Lives Programme

The Digital Lives Programme is a research programme of the Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IHSS) at Queen Mary University of London. It brings together inter-, multi- and transdisciplinary researchers and practitioners animated by the relationships between people, data and digital technologies. Recognising that the digital is produced through the social, its potential themes include digital bodies, digital aesthetics, digital finance, data lives and digital afterlives.
The programme was launched with a one-day symposium in January 2023, an opportunity to meet colleagues from across Queen Mary, share research on digital lives through short presentations and establish some common objectives for the programme. It has run a monthly seminar series through the academic year, alongside occasional guest seminars and a symposium and poetry night on alternative intelligences in June 2024, and it welcomes new members.
