Digital Music Research Network (DMRN)

The Digital Music Research Network (DMRN) aims to promote research in the area of digital music by bringing together researchers from UK universities and industry in electronic engineering, computer science and music. It describes digital music as an important and fast-moving research area, emerging as a transdiscipline across the usual academic boundaries of computer science, electronic engineering and music. The network holds an annual one-day workshop of invited keynotes, contributed talks and posters, and recent editions publish proceedings.
The original proposal that led to DMRN, the Music Processing Network (MuProNet), was submitted from King's College London in May 2001, and DMRN was hosted at Queen Mary University of London for many years under the stewardship of the Centre for Digital Music (C4DM). The twentieth workshop, DMRN+20, was held at King's College London in December 2025, hosted by King's and its Music and Acoustics Research Centre (MARC) in partnership with C4DM, and the twenty-first is announced at King's, again in collaboration with C4DM, for 11 December 2026.
