London Arts and Humanities Partnership (LAHP)

The London Arts and Humanities Partnership (LAHP) is one of ten Doctoral Training Partnerships in the UK funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), supporting doctoral research across the arts and humanities through training, cohort development, institutional partnerships and links with the professional and cultural sectors. It was created in 2014 by King's College London, the School of Advanced Study (University of London) and University College London; Queen Mary University of London joined in 2015 and the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2016, and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, the Royal College of Art and the Royal College of Music joined after the 2018 funding renewal, bringing the partnership to eight institutions. Its central office is at University College London. Its core delivery partners, which form part of its Governing Council, are Google Arts & Culture, LADA Live Art Development Agency, London Museum, The National Archives, the Victoria and Albert Museum and Wellcome Trust, and its programme includes collaborative doctoral awards, a placement scheme and funds for research training and public engagement, with training open to funded and unfunded doctoral researchers across the partnership. The partnership reports over 400 funded students; its last funded cohort began in Autumn 2025, and it has no funding for new students from 2026/27, while current cohorts continue their studies.
