The Manton Centre for British Art is a centre for the study and teaching of British art at The Courtauld, established in 2025 with a gift from the Manton Foundation. It brings together art historians, curators, critics, artists and students in the UK and internationally, and takes in British art of every period and kind, including work produced under colonial rule and by diaspora communities. The centre puts on lectures, conferences and workshops, offers scholarships, brings in visiting fellows and gives an annual Manton Lecture. Master's students taking British art modules and doctoral students in the field are based at the centre, and it runs Generation Landscape jointly with the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, a three-year programme combining research, public events and collaborative work.
