The Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art (PMC) is a research centre and educational charity, based in London and part of Yale University. Founded in 1970, it supports the generation of ideas and the sharing of knowledge about British art through grant making, events, publishing, resources for research and networks. The Centre reports awarding around £1 million a year through its grants and funding opportunities.
It publishes the open access journal British Art Studies and peer-reviewed books, holds an archive and library, and hosts Yale in London, an undergraduate programme for Yale College students co-organised with the Yale Center for British Art. With Tate it supports the British Art Network, and it is working with the Manton Centre for British Art at the Courtauld on Generation Landscape, a three-year programme of research, events and collaboration.
