The South Lanarkshire Council Archives and Records Centre is the council's archive service, based at Hawbank Road in East Kilbride and administered within the council's Finance and Corporate Resources directorate. It holds ARCHON code 1828 and is listed nationally as repository GB1828. Its holdings include council and predecessor authority minutes and committee papers, school records, the records of the East Kilbride Development Corporation, and deposited business, solicitors and architects papers. It runs a free search room three days a week by appointment, and its catalogues are linked from the national Scottish archives resource. South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture deposits its own historical records with the centre.
