Leverhulme Centre for Humanity and Space (LCHS)

Active

Description

The Leverhulme Centre for Humanity and Space is a University of Leicester research centre examining outer space as a human and cultural domain rather than purely a technical one. Based at Space Park Leicester, it brings arts, humanities and social science perspectives to how people live, work, govern and make sense of space exploration. Its work is organised around four strands: living and working in space; peace, security and governance; communication, representation and experience; and sustainability, development and fairness. The centre is funded by a ten year, ten million pound award from the Leverhulme Trust, one of three new Leverhulme Research Centres announced in the Trust's centenary year.
