United Kingdom Constitutional Law Association (UKCLA)

Active

Description

The United Kingdom Constitutional Law Association (UKCLA) is the UK's national body of constitutional law scholars, affiliated to the International Association of Constitutional Law. Its stated object is to encourage and promote the advancement of knowledge relating to United Kingdom constitutional law (broadly defined) and the study of constitutions generally. The Association organises and supports seminars, runs a blog followed by over 5,000 people, and maintains a register of PhD projects related to UK constitutional law. It is governed by an executive committee elected by its members. Formed in 2003 as an informal group, it was put on a more formal footing in January 2014, when it became the UKCLA.
