British Association of Comparative Law (BACL)

Active

Description

The British Association of Comparative Law (formerly the UK National Committee for Comparative Law) seeks to coordinate and encourage comparative legal research and teaching throughout the UK, providing a forum for sustained reflection and conversation on all comparative law matters. Membership is open to staff of UK universities whose research interests or activities involve comparative law broadly considered. The Association runs an annual symposium on a comparative law theme (usually held alongside the Society of Legal Scholars Annual Conference), a two-day postgraduate workshop for doctoral students in comparative legal studies, a blog, and a newsletter, and meets twice a year. With the Scottish Association of Comparative Law, it co-ordinates the UK national reports submitted to the International Congress of Comparative Law.
