Socio-Legal Studies Association (SLSA)

Active

Description

The Socio-Legal Studies Association (SLSA) is a UK charity committed to advancing education and learning in the field of socio-legal studies and to promoting research. The Association funds research, recognises excellence through its annual prizes, provides opportunities for scholarly collaboration through its events, and facilitates the dissemination of knowledge through its publications and Annual Conference. It also supports students through discounted membership fees, a free annual Postgraduate Conference, bursaries and PhD Fieldwork Grants. The Association describes socio-legal studies as an interdisciplinary field exploring the relationship between law and society, examining how laws operate in practice and how they shape, and are shaped by, social, political, cultural and economic forces.
