McDonald Centre for Theology, Ethics and Public Life
Description
The McDonald Centre facilitates dialogue between Christian theology and other disciplines, as well as between academia and influencers in public discourse and policy-making. It attracts scholars and professionals worldwide, including public officials, civil servants, policymakers, and opinion leaders.
By disseminating supported research, the Centre communicates with academic, ecclesiastical, and general audiences. Its work acknowledges the increasing recognition that morally and politically engaged theology plays a vital role in promoting the well-being of both individuals and institutions in liberal democracies.
Located at the Faculty of Theology and Religion, University of Oxford, the Centre receives generous support from the McDonald Agape Foundation.
The McDonald Graduate Scholarship in Ethics and Public Life alternates between a member of the Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Philosophy and is held at Christ Church.
