Description

The Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development (OICSD) is a unique partnership between Oxford and India, dedicated to advancing research on sustainable development in India.

The OICSD takes a comprehensive approach to sustainable development, covering social, environmental, economic, and policy aspects. It adopts an interdisciplinary and cross-cutting approach, incorporating disciplines such as law, governance, engineering, technology, as well as relevant areas within the humanities, physical, medical, and social sciences.

• The OICSD aims to unite diverse academic disciplines and methodologies to tackle key sustainable development challenges in India.
• The OICSD will support talented Indian graduate students who lack the means to study at Oxford by providing fully-funded scholarships. These students will conduct research on the scientific, social, political, economic, and legal aspects of sustainability in India.
• The OICSD strives to bridge the gap between academic research and actionable policies, engaging a wide audience in both the UK and India.
