Committee for Linguistics in Education (CLiE)

Description

 

The Committee for Linguistics in Educations (CLiE), is a committee of experts in language with a special interest in education and language teaching. It is an umbrella organisation of the Linguistics Association of Great Britain (LAGB) and the British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL) and encompasses representatives of 18 member organisations involved in teaching English, EAL, EFL and modern foreign languages including home/community languages. CLiE builds bridges between researchers (linguists) and practitioners and provides evidence-bases comments on education policy (to the Department for Education, the Minister of State for Universities etc.), curriculum and assessments.
