Description

The British Council is the UK's international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. It supports peace and prosperity by building connections, understanding and trust between people in the UK and countries worldwide.

Working across arts and culture, education, the English language, and international partnership, it connects UK expertise to a global presence in over 100 countries. Its programmes encompass arts exchange, English language teaching and assessment, research and insight on international cultural relations, higher education partnerships, skills and employability, and non-formal education. In 2024–25 it reached 600 million people.
