Royal African Society
Description
Since 1901, the Royal African Society has continuously published a journal to bring the latest research about Africa to a British and global audience. African Affairs, published in partnership with Oxford University Press, is now the world’s top ranked African Studies journal, with a global readership.
The Royal African Society also has a very close partnership with the African Studies Association of the UK, the primary network of Africanist scholars in the UK, with whom it shares membership and provide logistical support. This gives access to the latest academic research and to their biennial conference (see the ASAUK website).
The Royal African Society is hosted by SOAS – University of London, the only Higher Education institution in Europe specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East. Since the 1990s, the Society has worked with SOAS to enhance research and public understanding of Africa.
