The Arts Institute

Description

The Arts Institute is a multi-skilled team, based within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business at the University of Plymouth, which fuses research, KE, experiential education, civic and business engagement, and cultural programming; transforming lives by helping people and places to see and realise their potential.  

By working in long-term partnership with our community, colleagues across the University and our SRIs for Marine, Health and Sustainability, with a strong and coherent brand, identity and ethos that runs through our team, our activities and our programming, The Arts Institute will:  

• Build projects and partnerships that embed and embody placemaking; using creative, strategic, and tactical collaboration to enable positive socio-economic and environmental change. 

• Drive interdisciplinary research and impact at scale; working in partnership with our SRIs to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals and tackle Global Challenges. 

• Amplify University research to influence policy and strategy in our areas of excellence. 

• Engage and inspire audiences and communities; creating memorable experiences which connect people, skills and ideas.  

• Identify and capitalise on strategic opportunities by leveraging relationships with key stakeholders. 

• Profile Plymouth locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
