Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (LCMR), Liverpool
Description
The Liverpool Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (LCMRS) is an interdisciplinary hub that facilitates research development, support, and networking for scholars in the fields of medieval and early modern studies. The Centre brings together colleagues from various departments in Liverpool and higher education institutions across the northwest of England, such as Chester, Liverpool Hope, Lancaster, and Manchester.
The Centre's primary objective is to promote research excellence by supporting the generation of research income and enhancing the research culture through interdisciplinary collaboration across the University. LCMRS works closely with other research centres and groups, including the Religious Studies Research Cluster, Eighteenth-Century Worlds, Centre for Study of International Slavery, and the ACE Receptions Research Group, to contribute to a vibrant research environment that benefits members, guests, and research students.
LCMRS is home to the successful MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies and is a focal point for postgraduates pursuing an MA or PhD in departments such as History, English, CLAS, Irish Studies, and ACE. The Centre has an excellent track record in terms of publications, research development, support, and research council funding. It has also been successful in forging international links and partnerships. LCMRS is particularly proud of its strengths in postgraduate recruitment and training, staff mentoring, and raising the profile of Medieval and Renaissance Studies at the University of Liverpool, both nationally and internationally.
