Centre for Sustainable Solutions
Description
The Centre for Sustainable Solutions at the University of Glasgow is focused on enabling individuals, communities, and organizations to act toward a sustainable future through education, research, and partnership.
They believe that sustainability means meeting the social foundations of current and future generations while living responsibly within a healthy, natural environment. The Centre is concentrating its climate action in three key domains: education, research, and partnership, and supports interdisciplinary, cross-campus, and cross-sectoral solutions to climate change.
Their vision is to bring people, disciplines, and sectors together for new insights, connect academic expertise with policy, business, and activism, and build capacity through mainstreaming sustainability education.
Their objectives are to enable the University to lead and be part of the current global movement calling for sustainable solutions across all sectors, support, publicly promote, and help to coordinate the activities of staff (academic and professional) and students around sustainability, and leverage Scottish, UK, and International funding and multi-sector partnerships for future calls related to the climate emergency.
