Centre for Low Countries Studies (LCS)

Description

The Centre for Low Countries Studies (LCS) at University College London (UCL) brings together the college's expertise in Dutch Studies which ranges across the disciplines of art history, cultural studies, history, language studies, comparative literature and translation studies and has links to area studies, migration studies and postcolonial studies.

The Centre aims for an inclusive approach, so that the Low Countries takes in the entire historic region of what is now the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. In addition, the Centre’s interests reach into those places on the globe where Dutch-speaking peoples live or have lived, including parts of the Americas, South Africa and Southeast Asia.
