Institute of Art and Technology
Description
Operating from the heart of the John Lennon Building in the city that Carl Jung dreamt to be ‘the pool of life’, the Institute of Art and Technology hosts inquisitive and creative researchers from around the world: all teaching, all learning, all working together for a better future.
As Liverpool’s international flagship for cultural and creative research, the Institute of Art and Technology is a supported and linked collective network of artistic research and technologies laboratories, each with a team led by inspiring researchers from four collaborating Schools: Liverpool School of Art and Design, Liverpool Screen School, School of Education and Department of Computer Science.
The Institute has a congelation of an inquisitive team of brilliantly talented experts; five internationally recognised Art and Technologies Labs (Art Labs), including the award-winning Face Lab; excellent resources including Liverpool Fab Lab; global research collaborations; partnerships with Liverpool’s world-renowned cultural institutions such as Liverpool Biennial and Liverpool Tate; a large community of postgraduate research students; and close working relationships with businesses and communities in a collaborative, ambitious and edgy city full of culture, arts, music, storytelling, creativity, technological innovation, events and networks.
