Asian Music Unit

Description

Asian Music Unit brings together expertise within the Goldsmiths Music Department and provides a platform for collaboration with other Departments and Centres at Goldsmiths that have research interests in Asian culture.

The key aims of Asian Music Unit are to consolidate existing external partnerships with organizations that focus on Asian culture and develop new research collaborations and creative projects that will bring together theory, performance and creative practice.

Research projects, performances, talks, film screenings and symposia are particularly focused on the following areas: Safeguarding Heritage, Musical Revival and Cultural Policy; Diasporic and Transnational Music Cultures; Filmmaking and Music Research; Music, Politics and Censorship; Music and the Environment.
