Centre for Caribbean and Diaspora Studies (CCDS)
Description
The Centre for Caribbean and Studies is a leading international Resource and Research Centre for the study, promotion and dissemination of Caribbean and Diaspora culture, including literature and history.
The centre continues to develop, with a range of contemporary interdisciplinary practitioners including writers, performers, historians, and technologists, concerning the representation and promotion of Caribbean and diasporic cultural knowledge and heritage in the UK, and internationally.
The centre does this through an exploration of literary, historical and contemporary cultural practices throughout the globe. The centre inspires and provokes critical discussion to promote the centre’s aims particularly – at grassroots level – through its interdisciplinary and UK-wide post-doc network connecting diasporic communities.
Central to the founding of the Master’s programme in Black British Literature, CCDS continues to contribute to the pioneering ‘MA in Black British Literature’.
