Connecting Arts and Humanities Infrastructures for AI Capability
ActiveDescription
Connecting Arts and Humanities Infrastructures for AI Capability is a project that aims to develop AI-enabled data and infrastructure to underpin innovation by connecting arts and humanities data services with inspectable AI workflows and routes to national compute. It brings together infrastructure projects, insights and efforts from the Arts and Humanities (A&H) research networks established by the UKRI Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) communities as well as skills projects to drive the wider adoption of AI capabilities, through an experimental, coordinated approach within the A&H domain. Funded by UKRI EPSRC and led from the University of Brighton, its multidisciplinary team represents several Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and DRI providers across the UK. Its activities include community workshops, a residential spring school on AI for research in the arts and humanities, and exchange placements. Its outputs build on previously funded community and skills projects, including the Digital Skills in Arts and Humanities (DISKAH) Network, the Federation of Compute and Infrastructures in the Arts and Humanities project, the Collaborative Computational Project for Arts, Humanities, and Culture scoping initiative and the Data/Culture project.
