Participatory Action Research Group in Migration and Border Violence (PAR-MBV)

Active

Description

The Participatory Action Research Group in Migration and Border Violence (PAR-MBV) is a group of academics working across the School of Policy and Global Affairs, the City Law School and the School of Health and Medical Sciences at City St George’s, University of London, and beyond, on the subject of migration and border violence. It reports working with migrant rights organisations and other third sector organisations, co-producing and co-designing projects and carrying them out on the basis of a participatory action model. The group describes the aim of its work as challenging the politics of migration that give rise to violence, rely on violence for their implementation, and resist existing systems of accountability for violence. Its events page lists a research networking day on building solidarity in research and practice, a workshop, a webinar and a July 2026 event showcasing artwork created during a series of creative workshops with migrant women.
