Global (Dis)Order
ActiveDescription
Global (Dis)Order is an interdisciplinary research group based at City St George’s, University of London, formed to develop new international research to further understanding of global order and disorder. It sits within City International Policy Studies (CIPS), reports that it was established in September 2022, and aims to serve as a research-intensive multi-institutional network for domestic and international academics, practitioners and PhD students who are focused on the political, economic, sociological, legal, historical and epistemic dimensions of crisis and disorder in the world. Its areas of research include Global Disorder in Artificial Intelligence and Disruptive Technologies, Global Disorder and the Global South, Global Disorder Rhetoric and the Crisis of Liberal Internationalism, and Global Disorder and Geopolitical Wars. The group reports organising seminars and talks with academic units, government practitioners and heads of think tanks, and it hosts book launches, discussion forums and a podcast. In June 2026 it co-hosted a parliamentary briefing on political rhetoric, disinformation and democracy with the Foreign Policy Centre and others.
