Research Centre for Arts and Creative Cultures (ArCC)
ActiveDescription
The Research Centre for Arts and Creative Cultures (ArCC) brings together an interdisciplinary research community examining how culture is produced, mediated, spatialised, historicised, technologised, governed and valued. Across diverse disciplinary backgrounds, its work is shaped by an art and design-based ethos of critical enquiry, supporting practice-led, historically informed and publicly engaged research. Established at Coventry University in 2026, the centre brings together arts, humanities, design and creative practice research within an interdisciplinary framework aligned to REF UoA32 (Art and Design: History, Practice and Theory), across three themes: Inclusive Design and Wellbeing; Creative Economies, Culture and Place; and Care Relations and Social Justice. Its director reports that its scholars work with forms of AI and the digital in relation to social justice, care, pedagogy, publishing and the digital public sphere.
