Mental Diversity Law Network (MDLN)

Description

The Mental Diversity Law Network (MDLN) reports approximately 150 academics, people with lived experience and other stakeholders with an interest in the law as it relates to mental diversity, with academic members from 37 universities in the UK and Ireland. It takes mental diversity to include psycho-social conditions, developmental and intellectual disabilities, conditions relating to old age and personality disorders. Mental health law and mental capacity law are a significant part of its interests, alongside a wider range of legal and social factors. Its first conference was held in 2016 and its most recent in Nottingham in 2023, and it reports a programme for research students and early career researchers. Its website is hosted by the Institute of Mental Health, Nottingham.
