ActiveDescription
The Liverpool Centre for Cultural, Social and Political Research (LCCSPR) was established by Liverpool John Moores University and announced in October 2024, bringing together researchers from several of its schools. It aims to enable research on contemporary culture, society and politics to flourish and to identify and illuminate connections between everyday culture, local community and the wider world. Its four working groups are International Studies; Society, Culture and Public Policy; Cultural and Textual Studies; and Communities, Activism and Social Transformation. The Cultural and Textual Studies group’s remit includes literature, film, art, biblical studies, fiction, music, cities, sports and digital media. It describes its research as rooted in Merseyside, with a community-based focus that connects with the regional and the international.
