Modern Stoicism is a non-profit limited company, registered in the UK, run by a multidisciplinary team of volunteers. Its aims are to research and publish information on the application of Stoic philosophy to modern living for the benefit of the general public. It started under the name Stoicism Today with a workshop at the University of Exeter in early October 2012, and describes itself as a collaboration between academics and psychotherapists.

It runs free online courses, including Stoic Week each October and Stoic Mindfulness and Resilience Training (SMRT), and organises an annual event, Stoicon, held online since 2020. It has a Director of Research and publishes reports on Stoic Week, and its Stoic Attitudes and Behaviours Scale was published in the journal Cognitive Therapy and Research in 2025.
