The Middle East and Central Asia Music Forum

Active

Description

The Middle East and Central Asia Music Forum has been running since 2007 and is open to researchers, students and anyone interested in the music and culture of the region. In the spirit of fostering dialogue and interdisciplinarity, the forum hopes that the issues discussed will be of interest to a broad audience, including musicologists, ethnomusicologists and other researchers in the arts, humanities and social sciences. It also welcomes those working on other aspects of Middle Eastern and Central Asian culture broadly speaking (dance, visual arts, media, film, literature, etc.).

The forum is convened by two professors, one at City St George's, University of London, and one at SOAS, and its page lists 27 editions between March 2007 and May 2022. Later editions include one at Queen Mary University of London in June 2025 and one at City St George's on 10 June 2026.
