Archaeology of Egypt and Sudan
Description
Archaeology of Egypt and Sudan is a research network at the UCL Institute of Archaeology. It pools the Institute's expertise on the Nile valley, where projects include fieldwork, the study of objects in present-day museum collections and critical research into the history and present practice of archaeology in Egypt and Sudan, as well as neighbouring regions of Africa and Asia. The network draws on UCL's Petrie Museum of Egyptian and Sudanese Archaeology, which holds material from almost all periods of Egyptian and Sudanese history and is an important place for studying the development of Egyptian archaeology in the 19th and 20th centuries. The network also helps its members to multiply their resources through shared research, supervision and teaching.
