The International Centre for Chinese Heritage and Archaeology (ICCHA) is a joint association between the School for Archaeology and Museology of Peking University and the UCL Institute of Archaeology, dedicated to promoting China's cultural past and facilitating communication between Western and Eastern scholars. University College London and Peking University officially launched the Centre in December 2003. It aims to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge across cultural barriers and to conduct joint research on heritage and archaeological problems facing modern China, to develop and promote new ideas and technologies relating to Chinese archaeology and heritage, to support the training of the next generation of archaeologists and conservators, and to promote collaboration between Chinese and UK museums. Its research projects include work on early rice, the digital documentation of endangered temple wall paintings in Shanxi, and imperial logistics with the Museum of Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum. The Centre runs the China Night Seminar Series and an annual lecture.
