Peltz Gallery

Description

The Peltz Gallery is a research gallery at Birkbeck, University of London, in Bloomsbury, founded in 2013 with a donation from its benefactors. It stages exhibitions that bring together artistic practice and academic research, with shows by artists from the UK and other countries, opening up public debate on pressing questions and putting Birkbeck's own creative, interdisciplinary and experimental research on public view. Exhibition proposals are reviewed by a committee, and each exhibition is led by a named academic. The gallery belongs to Birkbeck's Creative Practice Lab, a group of independently run units that also includes the Birkbeck Institute for the Moving Image, the Vasari Research Centre and the Centre for Contemporary Theatre.
