Open Library of Humanities (OLH)

Description

The Open Library of Humanities is a not-for-profit, diamond open access publisher of humanities scholarship based at Birkbeck, University of London. It was set up by academics in 2013 as an independent company, registered as a charity in 2015, and merged into Birkbeck in 2022. It publishes peer-reviewed journals that are free to read, which it reports are funded by more than 340 contributing libraries worldwide, and it helps established journals move from subscription to open access. Its journals cover subjects across the humanities, including classics, history, philosophy, theology, literature, political theory, sociology, anthropology, modern languages, film and digital humanities. It also develops Janeway, an open-source publishing platform, and provides hosted publishing services built on it.
