Birkbeck Contemporary Poetics Research Centre (CPRC)

Active

Description

The Birkbeck Contemporary Poetics Research Centre studies and stages contemporary poetry, and looks at the historical, political and theoretical contexts in which poets work. Based at Birkbeck, University of London, it brings together a group of doctoral researchers working on poetry and poetics and connects them with poets and audiences across London. Its activities include readings, performances, workshops, seminars, lectures and conferences, with a focus on formally and materially experimental work, including sound, visual and digital poetry. The centre reports that it has established two web journals and a publishing venture, Veer Books.
