Centre for Research Collections, Edinburgh

Active

Description

The Centre for Research Collections is the University of Edinburgh's access point for its centrally managed heritage collections. It brings together rare books and printed material, archives and manuscripts, an art collection of several thousand works, a collection of historic musical instruments with its own public museum, and the Lothian Health Services Archive. The university describes the centre as a resource for interdisciplinary research across its schools and for visitors from beyond it. Its collections work is supported by project and collection level funding from trusts, bequests and national acceptance schemes.
