Scots Language Centre
ActiveDescription
The Scots Language Centre is a registered society and Scottish charity that promotes the Scots language and its literature, and acts as a public point of reference for the Scots language sector. It produces and hosts learning materials, including curriculum linked teaching resources, an interactive place name map and a video series supporting the Scottish Qualifications Authority's award in Scots. It runs a recurring interview strand with people working in and around the language, and a support programme for writers working in Scots. The centre also maintains a directory of other bodies active in the sector and signposts research resources held elsewhere, including a corpus and a linguistic atlas produced by a university.
